Comparison of Two DC Motor Speed Observers on Sensorless Speed Control Systems

In a sensorless motor speed control system, the is not directly measured using sensor, but it estimated an observer. The systems are mostly applied to AC motors, while they have been widely DC motors. Therefore, this paper presents simple observers estimate speed. used were based on electric equation. Two methods in research. first method was observer estimating resistance inductance values (L-R method), second motor’s only value (R method). armature current (ia) and voltage (va). sensor used. Not estimated, also implemented real motor. An Arduino microcontroller calculate LN298 as drive. Even though R simpler, test result showed that its estimation less precise than L-R method. By manual calculation, had error of 0.14%, results 5.03%. system 3.98%, 4.87%.
